Sinnet in swoop for ace Swift

The Scottish Cup winners can make it five trophies in a row tonight, when they face Fauldhouse United in the final of the St Michael’s Cup at Whitburn (kick-off 7pm).

They still have another final to play in their best season for nearly 40 years.

But after unveiling 21-year-old Swift as his first signing of the summer, Sinnet insisted: "We can still improve."

Swift played for Sinnet at Benburb before signing for Livingston but spent most of last season on loan to Cowdenbeath.

"Stevie had offers to go to Forfar, Stranraer and Cowdenbeath but decided to come to Linlithgow," added the manager. "He will give us competition for places on the right side of midfield."

Meanwhile, David Flynn has revealed how he thought he had walked into the LOSING dressing room after Saturday’s Heineken Cup final.

The striker hit a hat-trick in six second-half minutes to help Rose to a 6-5 win over Hill of Beath.

But Flynn, who has scored 31 goals in 31 starts for the Prestonfield side this season, said: "The mood in the dressing-room after the game was really quite flat because we know we didn’t play well.

"No one can remember the last time a Linlithgow team conceded five goals and we’ll have to get ourselves up again for Fauldhouse."

Linlithgow have yet to concede a goal in four St Michael’s Cup ties, scoring 15 goals in the process, and beat Fauldhouse 3-0 just last week.

However, Division Two champions Fauldhouse have claimed three top-flight scalps to get to the final.

Goalkeeper Ewan Wilson and striker Ian McMurray will face their former team, while Rose have injury doubts over defender David Beaton, Graeme Landels and Iain Gallacher.
