Shiels: Take semi to Tynie

kilmarnock boss Kenny Shiels wants his team’s Scottish Communities League Cup semi-final against rivals Ayr played in Edinburgh and not Hampden.

Shiels fears Hampden will be too big for the tie and believes Tynecastle could be the best option. “It will be dependant on how many tickets the SFL think the clubs can sell, but I think the two Edinburgh grounds would be very good. Tynecastle would be great,” said Shiels.

Ayr’s Jonathan Tiffoney disagreed, however, saying: “The boys deserve to go to Hampden after what they’ve done.”

Celtic play Falkirk in the other semi-final at Hampden.
