SFL previews: Forfar Athletic v Stirling Albion | Elgin City v Peterhead | Queen’s Park v Clyde

Previews for the match in Division Two and the two matches in Division Three this evening...

Second Division

Forfar Ath v Stirling Albion

Tonight’s match (kick-off 7.30pm) is in doubt because the Station Park pitch remained frozen yesterday. If the game goes ahead, experienced Forfar defender Mark McCulloch is in line for a return after six weeks out injured, and the midfield pair of Chris Hegarty and Martyn Fotheringham are added to the squad after illness. On-loan Aberdeen goalkeeper Jamie Langfield will make his home debut.

Greig McDonald is hoping that it will be third time lucky in his player/caretaker spell in charge at Albion and that he will finally get to see his men in action after two postponements. The big centre back remains out with a back injury and Marc McCulloch, who has been coaching the players, looks set to return to playing duties after an ankle injury.

Third Division

Elgin City v Peterhead

Elgin manager Ross Jack is confident his side’s first home game against their former Highland League rivals for over six years will get the go ahead after a thaw continued yesterday (kick-off 7.45pm).

David Niven and Archie MacPhee are major doubts for Jack’s side and they could join Paul Kaczan, Craig Frizzell, Steven Edwards in missing out.

Peterhead manager Jim McInally is looking to use his side’s game against Celtic in the Scottish Cup next month to bring about an improvement in the Blue Toon’s league position starting at Elgin tonight. A win would lift the Balmoor men off bottom spot.

Peterhead hope David Donald can return after a rib injury and they are also waiting on news of the fitness of centre back Alan Rattray. Paul Watson is still missing through a ban.

Queen’s Park v Clyde

Queen’s Park will look to put the disappointment of losing 1-0 to Alloa at the weekend behind them and see off a Clyde side that has crept ahead of the Spiders in the table (kick-off 7.30pm).

Midfielder Paul Stewart is available to face his old club after work commitments kept him out against Alloa, but striker Jamie Longworth may miss out due to his work commitments. Injuries continue to rule out Tony Quinn, Michael O’Hara, Steven Baillie and Giuseppe Capuano.

Former Spiders goalkeeper David Crawford will face his old club as on-loan Dundee United goalkeeper Felip Mentel is out injured. New recruits defender Jason Marr and striker Jordan White are also included, with striker Stephen MacDonald available after suspension. Defenders Gavin Brown and Declan Gallacher, along with winger Paul McMullan, are all unavailable, injured.
