Second Division roundup: Kean hat-trick earns Stenny hard-earned point

ALBION and Stenhousemuir play out an eight-goal thriller; Arbroath and Forfar share points; Queens dispose of Brechin; Ayr leave it late to beat East Fife and Alloa ease past Stranraer.

Albion Rovers 4, Stenhousemuir 4

David Crawford put Albion in front before Stewart Kean hit a double.

Mark McGuigan levelled in 49 minutes, but Andy Rodgers fired the Warriors back in front. Gary Phillips equalised, Crawford put Albion back in front before Kean completed his hat-trick in injury-time.

Arbroath 1, Forfar Athletic 1

Forfar made the perfect start with Michael Bolochoweckyj scoring from close range after only four minutes.

But Bolochoweckyj was sent off after 28 minutes for violent conduct and Steven Doris equalised with a 53rd-minute penalty. Forfar’s Stephen Tulloch was also red-carded.

Brechin City 0, Queen of the South 3

Chris Higgins took just seven minutes to put Queen of the South ahead when he headed in Willie Gibson’s cross.

Five minutes from the break Derek Lyle headed in the second to put Queens in control and Gibson added a third from the penalty spot.

East Fife 2, Ayr United 3

Jamie Pollock gave East Fife a fifth-minute lead but four minutes later David Sinclair equalised.

Sinclair scored his second 11 minutes from the break. On-loan Bobby Barr equalised with seven minutes left but Kyle McAusland had the final say for Ayr.

Alloa Athletic 3, Stranraer 0

Alloa went in front midway through the first half through Kevin Cawley.

Martin Grehan scored from the penalty spot after Stranraer goalkeeper David Mitchell was sent off for a professional foul. Graeme Holmes added a third in the last minute.
