Second Division round-up: Wallace seals win for East Fife to edge Forfar in seven-goal thriller

East Fife 4, Forfar Athletic 3In a five-goal first half, John Ovenstone opened the scoring with a header, only for Kevin Byers to head an equaliser four minutes later.

David Muir put the home side back in front but then Ovenstone put the ball into his own net to level.

Robert Ogleby, from a Ryan Wallace cross, made it 3-2 to East Fife.

On-loan Joe Shaughnessy then equalised for Forfar early in the second half, but Wallace scored the winner – his tenth of the season – after Adam McHugh was sent off for Forfar.

Arbroath 1, Cowdenbeath 1

Arbroath kept their two-point lead at the top of the Second Division after drawing with their closest challengers. Cowdenbeath took a 19th-minute lead with Tom O’Brien scoring from close range but Arbroath equalising through Josh Falkingham.

Airdrie United 5, Stenhousemuir 2

Airdrie controlled the first half with Ryan Donnelly, Paul Lovering and John Boyle making it 3-0. Colin Hamilton and Stewart Kean scored for Stenhousemuir before Donnelly and Nathan Blockey made it five for Airdrie. David Lilley was sent off.

Stirling Albion 1, Brechin City 0

Stirling dominated opening proceedings and it was no surprise when Darren Smith put the home side ahead from Joshua Flood’s pass after 19 minutes.

Brechin’s Jim Lister was sent off for a bad foul ten minutes later
