It’s the first time the Scots have played in the competition since 1998, with the Tartan Army expected to travel to America in vast numbers for the pool games with also include matches against Morocco and Brazil.

And now the Scottish Football Association have revealed the away strip for the competition, which will make its debut later this month.

Here’s everything you need to know about it.

What is the design of the new Scotland away kit?

The Scottish Football Association have described the kit as “blending heritage with a bold, contemporary aesthetic”.

Designed by Adidas the strip is said to be a return to the scarlet red (although we’d describe it as more of a salmon pink) last used in the 1980s - drawing on the rich history of some of Scotland’s most iconic away kits, reimagined for the modern game.

The design is elevated by vertical purple pinstripes, adding depth and detail to create a dynamic look that stands out on the international stage.

A key feature of the new shirt is the reintroduction of the adidas Trefoil logo, a classic mark that connects the kit to some of the brand’s most celebrated designs, and something that will appear on all adidas away shirts in this global release.

The shirt is finished with a refined sign-off at the back of the neck, where a thistle is proudly displayed, a subtle nod to the nation.

When will the new Scotland away strip make its debut?

Scotland’s players will wear the new strip for the first time in their upcoming friendly against Japan at Hampden on Saturday, March 28.

What World Cup games will Scotland wear the new away strip at?

Scotland only have one ‘home’ tie in the World Cup pool games - their opening match against Haiti. They will be wearing their home strip for the other two fixtures against Brazil and Morocco. Of course they’ll almost certainly get the chance to wear it again when they reach the knock out stage (let us dream).

What is the design of the Scotland home strip for the World Cup?

The home strip is a classic dark blue colour with the Scotland badge in the centre of the top. Check it out below.
