Scotland face tough route to Brazil

SCOTLAND’S next campaign kicks off in 11 months’ time, when qualifying for the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil begins in September 2012.

Having dropped into the fourth pot of seeds, Scotland are in another tough group with Croatia, Serbia, Belgium, Macedonia and Wales. The nine European group winners qualify automatically, and the eight best runners-up will be drawn in two-leg play-offs for four other spots. One runner-up misses out.
