Sauchie 0-0 Bonnyrigg Rose

THIS was a hard-fought Super League match played on a difficult pitch with a draw the least the home side deserved.

Sauchie played from the 28th minute with ten men after Darren Cummings was shown a straight red card for a late tackle on Kris Renton. They regrouped and for long spells it looked as if they had the extra man, not Bonnyrigg.

The first half was a bit of a non event but Renton looked likeliest to score for the Rose but lacked support. Sauchie came closest to scoring when a clearance from David Patarek rebounded off Dougie Wilson and went just wide.

Sauchie had a great chance to score after 75 minutes but the Bonnyrigg keeper made a wonderful double save form Calum Hendrie and Gary Carroll. The young keeper kept the Rose in it with another terrific save from Stuart Love with nine minutes remaining. Rose had some pressure towards the end and the Sauchie keeper saved the day in injury time with a fine tip over from Sean Grady.
