Same again for Speed

Wales manager Gary Speed has the chance to name an unchanged side for the first time in his reign against Bulgaria tonight after revealing he has no new injury worries following Friday’s victory over Switzerland.

Speed was hit by several withdrawals ahead of the Liberty Stadium win, with Danny Gabbidon, Robert Earnshaw, Andy King, Jack Collison, Joe Ledley, James Collins and Danny Collins all ruled out. But all the remaining members of his original squad travelled to Sofia yesterday as Wales go in search of what previously appeared an unlikely third place in Group G of Euro 2012 qualifying.

Speed said: “It is always a boost to have the same squad and the same personnel available to us, it’s great for continuity going into this game and we are really looking forward to it.

Victory would see Wales record back-to-back competitive wins for the first time since 2005.
