Ryan Gauld has joined Vitória de Setúbal on loan from Sporting.

The Scottish under-21 international and former Dundee United star is one of three loan signings made by the Primeira Liga side, including his Sporting team-mate Andre Geraldes.

Gauld joined Portuguese giants Sporting in the summer of 2014 from Dundee United for a fee believed to be around £3 million.

The 20-year-old has played regularly for Sporting B, who play in the second tier of Portugal, but has made only two appearances for the senior side.

He had been linked with a move back to the UK with Sheffield Wednesday, but Sporting wished for him to remain in Portugal.
