Warburton “wanted by Swans”

MARK Warburton had been linked with the Swansea job, should incumbent Garry Monk get the boot.

Bookies have reportedly installed the Rangers boss as the favourite to land the Liberty Stadium gig if Swans chiefs decide to wield the axe.

Warburton last week distanced himself from the vacant Fulham job and took a swipe at “disrespectful and incorrect” stories in the media. (The Sun)

Stubbs linked with Reading post

HIBS boss Alan Stubbs has reportedly emerged as a possible successor to Steve Clarke, after the Scot was sacked last week by Reading.

Stubbs is believed to be on a shortlist of potential replacements for the ex-West Brom boss as Royals bosses move to identify a new manager. (The Sun)

Bitton “will move south” says agent

NIR Bitton will almost certainly move to England next summer, his agent has said.

Dudu Dahan told an Israeli radio station that a number of English Premier League sides were tracking the 24-year-old, with Sunderland credited with an interest in the past.

Bitton recently signed a new deal keeping him at Celtic until 2020 but now looks likely to move on next summer.

Dahan said that “right now is not the right time” for Bitton to move on, in an interview with Sport 5. (Daily Mail)

Rangers given boost in pursuit of Josh Windass

RANGERS hopes of securing Josh Windass next month have been given a lift.

Accrington Stanley are reportedly ready to cash in on Windass and team mate Matt Crooks having crashed out of the FA Cup at the weekend.

Out of a contract at the end of the season, Windass has said he was flattered by the attention from north of the border. (The Herald)

Dominic Ball wants return to Spurs

RANGERS loanee Dominic Ball is keen to get back to Tottenham at the end of the season.

Having spent half a season on loan to Cambridge United and the whole of this season at Ibrox, the 20-year-old is desparate to get back to White Hart Lane to continue his development. (HITC)

Mjallby and Virgo speak out on Stokes ban

FORMER Celtic defenders Johan Mjallby and Adam Virgo have spoken out about the controversial two-week suspension of Anthony Stokes.

Giving their verdict on the ban, the players said they understood Stokes’ opinion but believe airing his grievances on Twitter was not the way to go and that he could have handled it better. (HITC)
