Ronny Deila still hurt by Maribor defeat

The Celtic boss has been reflecting on his first year in the job and spoke of his disappointment when Celtic were knocked out of the Champions League qualifiers by Slovenian side Maribor, despite being being given a second crack of the whip last season.

“I hate the feeling I had in my body after Maribor. That is a feeling I fear and it drives me on. I hate losing – that’s in my blood.” Deila admitted.

Martin Odegaard loan move still possible

The Norwegian wunderkind’s agent Tore Pederson said that a loan move for the Real Madrid youth is still possible.

Odegaard has been the subject of much speculation on whether he could be loaned to Celtic, in order to be reunited with his former manager at Stromsgodset - Ronny Deila.

After the Hoops boss played down the move recently, Odegaard’s agent Pederson told Norwegian broadcaster TV2: “A loan is still relevant.”

The youngster is first, however, being given a chance to impress Los Blancos manager Rafa Benitez on the pre-season tour (InsideFutbol)

Nicky Law backs Mark Warburton’s ‘total football’

Rangers midfielder Nicky Law is pleased with new boss Mark Warburton’s football philosophy, saying that the former Brentford manager had dropped the ‘long ball’ game in favour of a more complete approach.

“It’s been enjoyable for me and most of the boys. We’ve got a lot of ball players and maybe in the last couple of years a lot of the games have probably passed us by and it hasn’t been great on the eye, we know that.” Law said.

Kris Boyd backs Rangers trio

The 31-year-old former Rangers striker believes that he and the other two players that Kilmarnock have signed from the Glasgow club will be a great asset to them. New SFA president Alan McRae is looking to approach Alex Ferugon for a role within the organisation.

The former Aberdeen and Manchester United manager serves as a coaching ambassador with UEFA and McRae would be looking for the 73-year-old to take up a similar position with the Scottish Football Asssociation.

“He’s still a man that’s in demand all over the world, but we’ve spoken about having him and others involved in the Scottish FA to give it a bit more of a wow factor.” the SFA president is reported to have said. (Press & Journal)

The Hoops winger believes that the Scottish champions are ready for their European qualification campaign, after putting a goal past Real Sociedad on Friday, in a confidence-building 1-0 victory.
