No let up in betting rules

Stewart Regan, chief executive of the Scottish Football Association, has ruled out a relaxation of the laws that preclude footballers from betting on matches.

Regan argued that small-return lays, such as those that led to Rangers’ Ian Black receiving a ten-match ban last week, represent the “thin end of the wedge” in the wider context of corrupt gambling, and should be aggressively stamped out. (Scotsman)

Lennon staying at Celtic

Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell says Neil Lennon is staying put after some linked him with a move to Sunderland, saying it would take something truly special to lure him away.
