Scott Allan ‘perfect’ for Rangers - Paul Murray

Rangers director Paul Murray admitted the Ibrox club’s interest in Scott Allan, only for the midfielder to insist he’ll see out the final year of his contract at Easter Road.

Murray believes Allan is the sort of player with both experience and potential who Rangers should be targeting.

Celtic target keen to stay at St Pauli

Celtic have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Marcel Halstenberg after the defender insisted he’s happy to stay with St Pauli another year.

The left-back has one year remaining on his current deal, leading to speculation this summer that the German club would want to cash in on their asset.

Celtic have reportedly shown an interest and could still make a move despite Halstenberg’s reassurance to St Pauli fans that he’s committed to playing his final year. (Daily Express)

Genk have offered striker Jelle Vossen a new five-year deal as they look to keep the player amid interest from Celtic.

The attacker has already spoken of his ‘admiration’ for the Scottish champions, and is likely to turn down the new offer in the hope of pushing through a move away from the Belgian side. (The Herald)

Hearts sign striker Juanma on three-year deal

Spanish striker Juanma Delgado flew into Edinburgh yesterday and signed a three-year deal with Hearts.

The tall frontman became Tynecastle head coach Robbie Neilson’s third summer signing.

The 24-year-old officially put pen to paper on a contract at the club’s Riccarton training base yesterday morning, moving to Hearts from Greek side Kalloni, where he scored seven goals last season. (The Scotsman)

Scott Allan to ‘see out Hibs contract’

Scott Allan dismissed talk of him leaving Hibernian, saying he expects to see out the new campaign with the Easter Road club.

Last season’s Championship Player of the Year, who has a year left on his contract, has been strongly linked, while champions Celtic are also reported to be considering a bid.

But, reporting back for the first day of pre-season training at the club’s East Mains complex, the 23-year-old said he had not had his head turned by the constant rumours and intends to remain at Hibs. (The Scotsman)

Lionel Ainsworth ‘not surprised’ by Mohsni attack

Motherwell winger Lionel Ainsworth says he was wasn’t surprised by the reaction of Bilel Mohsni at the end of the SPFL Premiership play-off final.

Ainsworth played against Mohsni while the two were in the lower reaches of English football and insists the former Rangers defender ‘has previous’ with regards to getting into bother on the football pitch.

Ainsworth was given a two-match ban for his involvement in the brawl, which was sparked when Lee Erwin and Mohsni clashed immediately after the final whistle. (The Herald)

Alan Stubbs is resigned to losing last season’s loan star Dylan McGeouch after revealing Celtic signed the player up for the 2015/16 season.

Stubbs said: “I think Celtic have taken his option up of another year, which I can see why.

Steven Thompson ‘to remain with St Mirren’

Veteran striker Steven Thompson is set to sign a one-year extension to remain with St Mirren.

The 36-year old’s contract expired in the summer after a dismal 2014/15 campaign which saw the Buddies finish bottom of the Scottish Premiership table.

It now appears that Thompson will stay to help the club try to achieve an immediate return as they look to take on the best of the second tier under new boss Ian Murray.
