Deila: Boyata deserved red card

Celtic boss Ronny Deila has criticised Dedryck Boyata after the champions were forced to accept a point against Hamilton.

Deila slammed Boyata for his tackle on Accies’ Carlton Morris, saying he deserved to to be red carded by referee Craig Thomson.

Speaking after Friday night’s draw, he said: “We have very quick defendersm you should run with them instead of taking chances. We got caught and it put us in a difficult situation.” (Scottish Sun)

Shin-wook transfer to Celtic thwarted

Striker Kim Shin-wook revealed he had agreed to sign to Celtic last month but was thwarted by red tape.

The 27-year-old Ulsan Hyundai player netted six goals to help his side win the Asian Champions League, attracting Celtic in the process.

Kilmarnock sign Julien Faubert

Kilmarnock pulled off a coup on Friday signing former France international Julien Faubert.

The former West Ham star moved to Bordeaux in 2007 in £6 million deal before making two appearances for Real Madrid while on loan in 2009.

The 32-year-old midfielder previously had a trial at St Johnstone.

Kilmarnock have offered him a deal until the end of the season. (Daily Express)

Neilson and Crawford sign new deals at Tynecastle

Manager Robbie Neilson and assistant Stevie Crawford were both given the green light to continue at Hearts.

The duo signed new contracts with the club until the end of the 2017-18 season. (Various)

Hibs complete Sean Mackie deal

Hibs have completed the signing of Raith Rovers youngster Sean Mackie.

The 17-year-old left back signed a four-and-a-half year deal with the Edinburgh club for £25,000.

Dundee United ‘prepared for the worst’

United manager Mixu Paatelainen has admitted his team have prepared for the worst as they face the drop to the Scottish Championship next season.

While staying positive about next season and in the face of Ross County on Saturday, the Finn said the club already has a plan in place in the event of losing its top flight place.

Ryan Jack vows revenge on Saints

Returning Aberdeen skipper Ryan Jack has vowed revenge against Saint Johnstone when the two sides meet on Saturday.

Frustrated Jack, who has been out of the game for two months with a hamstring injury, is keen to even the score after the Dons’ shock 5 - 1 defeat to the Saints last October.

Saturday’s tie will be the first time the two teams have met since then, with Jack describing the loss as the low point of Aberdeen’s season. (Press and Journal)
