Former referee Charlie Richmond has called Sam Nicholson “disgusting” for spitting at an official. The Hearts winger was sent off in his side’s 1-0 defeat at St Johnstone for spitting in the direction of assistant referee Stephen Mitchell. Richmond believes Hearts were right not to appeal the decision as it’s “a clear red card”. (Daily Record)

Armstrong laughs off Corden tweet
Stuart Armstrong has laughed off a tweet by TV star James Corden which hoped West Ham United would sign the Celtic midfielder. Armstrong, who was voted Player of the Month for March, said he’s happy with life at Celtic and his representatives are currently in talks with the Parkhead hierarchy over a new deal. (Various)
Rangers DoF target joins Norwich
Stuart Webber, the Huddesfield recruitment chief who turned down a move from Rangers last month, has joined Norwich City as the club’s Sporting Director. Webber made a name for himself helping to transform the fortunes of Huddersfield and was among the list of names wanted by the Ibrox board for their director of football role. (Football Insider)
Lennon slams SFA timing
Neil Lennon has accepted that he will have to contend with a disciplinary hearing but the Hibernian manager is far from happy that he will have to do it just two days before one of his side’s biggest games of the season. The Easter Road boss has been cited to appear at Hampden on 20 April, two days before his club’s Scottish Cup semi-final against Aberdeen, to answer to three charges of misconduct relating to the mass brawl at the end of his team’s recent draw with Morton. Darren O’Dea insists Dundee’s last-minute 2-1 loss to Ross County on Tuesday night hurt more than their 7-0 mauling at the hands of Aberdeen.
