Kranjcar deal not dead yet

FORMER Tottenham midfielder Niko Kranjcar could yet become a Rangers player according to his dad - despite reports that talks were dead in the water.

Kranjcar’s father Zlatko - the former Croatia boss - said: “His contract with New York Cosmos is about to run out and he’s injured right now anyway. But he will be back and will play on.

“He could continue with Cosmos, who want to keep him or go to Rangers, who he is still talking to. He wants to return to Europe.” (Daily Record)

Fulham eye Johansen swoop

FULHAM could make a move for Celtic midfielder Stefan Johansen.

The 25-year-old Norwegian had been holding talks with Hoops chiefs but discussions are said to have failed to reach a contract extension.

Now Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic could take a chance on Johansen, knowing a bid of around £2 million could prompt Celtic to let the player leave Parkhead. (Daily Express)

Arsenal still monitoring Rogic

ARSENAL are still keeping tabs on Celtic star Tom Rogic, having been linked with the Australian ace earlier this year.

The 23-year-old, who has won 17 caps for his country, has emerged as a target for the Gunners along with highly-rated defender Kieran Tierney.

And former Australian international Peter Raskopolous believes a move south would benefit Rogic, adding: “The more European league in the EPL will suit him better than the bustle and roughness of the Scottish league.

“The Scottish league is a hard league and Tommy will be suited to Arsenal much better. It’s a club where we’ll see Tommy making a huge name for himself.” (Various)

Lennon set to take Hibs job

NEIL Lennon is set to be unveiled as the new Hibernian boss later today, with reports the former Celtic and Bolton manager has agreed a two-year deal to succeed Alan Stubbs.

Lennon, who has held talks with Hibs chief executive Leeann Dempster had sought assurances over the Easter Road side’s budget, with Dempster promising to back the new manager financially as Hibs look to win promotion from the Championship.

Lennon is expected to bring former Leicester City team-mate Garry Parker to Leith as his assistant. (The Scotsman)

Killie eye 11 new signings

LEE Clark is keen on adding 11 new players to the Kilmarnock ranks, after tying up teenager Greg Taylor on a new three-year deal.

Of that number, deals have reportedly been finalised with five players based in England, and are also keen to hang on to Miles Addison and Rory McKenzie.

The Rugby Park side released eight players and transfer-listed a further seven at the end of last season after narrowly maintaining their Premiership status. (BBC Sport)

Hoops look to sell Stokes for £500k

CELTIC could sell striker Anthony Stokes for £500,000 - after snubbing the chance to terminate the Irishman’s contract at Parkhead.

Stokes, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Hibs, scored a double as Hibs ended their 114-year wait for Scottish Cup glory with a 3-2 win over Rangers last month.

But Celtic could look to cash in on the striker after his Hampden heroics, and Stokes could team up again with Alan Stubbs with Rotherham keen on the forward. (Daily Mail)

Wallace set to sign new deal at Ibrox

LEE Wallace is set to hold talks with Rangers over a new three-year deal.

According to reports, the former Hearts defender could sign a contract extension keeping him at Ibrox until 2019.

Wallace scored nine goals and notched up 13 assists last season as Rangers won the Scottish Championship title. (Scottish Sun)

Dons cool interest in Bannigan

ABERDEEN look to have cooled their interest in Partick Thistle midfielder Stuart Bannigan, with the player linked with a move to Barnsley.

The 23-year-old had been linked with a move to Pittodrie but is currently injured and is unlikely to be fit for the start of pre-season.

And there won’t be a return to Aberdeen for Wales ‘keeper Danny Ward, with the Liverpool goalie set to join Huddersfield on a season-long loan after the Euro 2016 tournament. (Various)

RAY McKinnon is keen on bringing Ross County midfielder Stewart Murdoch to Tannadice as he starts his rebuild.
