Miller to join Rangers management team

Kenny Miller is in the frame to join Pedro Caixinha’s management team at Rangers. The Ibrox striker could become No 3 behind new boss Caixinha who is expected to appoint Helder Baptista as his assistant. Miller, 37, is out of contract at the end of the season and had previously spoke of wishing to continue playing. Caixinha is keen to bring in a Scottish coach and Miller could fit the bill. (Sun)

BT Sport’s record bid for SPFL rights

BT Sport is poised to offer the SPFL its biggest ever TV deal in a bid edge out Sky in Scotland. The two broadcasters currently pay £21 million per season to share the rights to screen Scottish Premiership games, with Sky having the rights to show the four Celtic-Rangers matches. But BT Sport wants to go it alone and is prepare to break the previous record deal which was worth £31m per season. (Daily Mail)

Manchester United monitor Dembele

Manchester United are taking serious interest in the progress of Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, and could join Chelsea is making a move for the French forward in the summer. Celtic would want at least £30m for Dembele, who has scored 32 goals in 45 games this season - including five in the Champions League. (The Independent)

Everton also keen on Dembele

Everton are also keeping tabs on Dembeble and have identified him as a potential replacement for Romelu Lukaku should the Belgian international leave in the summer. Lukaku has turned down a new £170,000-a-week contract offer and Everton are facing up to the fact that their star asset could be leaving. Manager Ronald Koeman believes Dembele could be the man to step into his shoes. (Daily Express)

Bobby Madden has not been demoted

The SFA has dismissed suggestions referee Bobby Madden has been demoted following his performance in Sunday’s Celtic v Rangers match. Madden refused to give Celtic a late penalty when Clint Hill brought down Leigh Griffiths, attracting widespread criticism. Madden will referee in the Championship on Saturday when he takes charge of Dunfermline v Ayr but the SFA insists the fixtures are allocated in six-week blocks and Madden is simply taking his turn in the lower division.
