The Celtic keeper flew out to Portugal last night with Roy Hodgson’s squad to begin preparations for the finals and insisted positive thinking is the key to success.

Forster said: You have to go there and believe you can win every game. You can’t have any mindset other than being 100 per cent positive. Every team will be out to prove something and there will not be an easy game. But we’ll go into each match believing we can win it.” (Daily Record)

Wright pledges future to St Johnstone

TOMMY Wright has revealed he would be happy to sign a ten-year deal with St Johnstone.

The Perth club’s manager is set to enter talks with chairman Steve Brown after winning the Scottish Cup last weekend.

Wright said: “My contract is up for review at the end of the month. I’m more than happy to stay at St Johnstone for as long as possible. If I’m still St Johnstone manager in ten years’ time I will be happy.” (The Sun)

Celtic could face Malmo showdown

CELTIC could face a Champions League showdown with Swedish aces Malmo.

The Hoops will join Motherwell, Aberdeen and St Johnstone to discover their European opponents when the draw is made on 23 June, with games to be played 15/16 July and 22/23 July.

Although Neil Lennon’s side will be seeded and likely to be paired with geographically close opponents, Malmo – who hammered Hibs 9-0 on aggregate in the Europa League last season – remain a possible obstacle. (Daily Record)

Calderwood says van Gaal is right for Man Utd

JIMMY Calderwood says his old pal Louis van Gaal is the perfect choice for the Manchester United manager’s job.

The former Aberdeen boss, a team-mate of van Gaal at Sparta Rotterdam in the 1980s, says the Dutchman is in the same mould as Sir Alex Ferguson.

Calderwood said: “He’s the ideal man. He has similarities to Sir Alex in that he does not suffer fools gladly and he’s attack-minded as Manchester United normally are. He’s a hard taskmaster – it’s either his way or the highway.” (Daily Record)

Toure eyes exit from Man City

YAYA Toure wants to quit Manchester City.

The Ivory Coast star is so disillusioned with the English Premier League champions he was even take a pay cut to rejoin Barcelona.

Toure’s agent Dimitri Seluk said: “Yaya is so upset he’s thinking of leaving Manchester City. There are a number of things that have happened that have left Yaya feeling bitterly upset. City have treated him with disrespect and have really hurt him. They don’t know that money can’t buy relationships. He would take less money to return to Barca.” (The Sun)
