Forest and Derby join Cummings chase

NOTTINGHAM Forest and Derby have joined the chase for Hibs hitman Jason Cummings.

The 20-year-old striker has also attracted attention from Wolves, Brighton, Rotherham, Fulham and Reading after 16 goals in 24 appearances for Hibs this season.

MARTYN Waghorn is a target for Reading and Sheffield Wednesday, according to reports.

The former Wigan striker has scored 25 goals already this season, and scored a hat-trick in the 5-1 win over Cowdenbeath in the Scottish Cup.

LEEDS have made Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic their top target in this transfer window as they seek to strengthen their squad.

The Elland Road side, who have also been linked with Rogic’s Parkhead team-mate Anthony Stokes, are believed to value Rogic at £1 million. (Yorkshire Post)

Hull eye Blair Spittal

HULL could raid Dundee United for a second time, with Blair Spittal wanted by Tigers boss Steve Bruce.

Andy Robertson joined Hull from the Tannadice club in 2014 and the Championship side could return north of the Border as they seek to bolster their squad, which also contains Shaun Maloney, Allan McGregor and Robert Snodgrass in its Scottish contingency.

Forster seals Plymouth loan

HIBS defender Jordon Forster has sealed a loan move to Plymouth, until the end of the season.

Pilgrims boss Derek Adams, formerly assistant manager at Hibs, has Plymouth at the top of League Two, and will be hoping that Forster, who can play at centre half and at right back, can help his team hold on to top spot. (Evening News)

CELTIC had scouts watching Romaine Sawyers and Tom Bradshaw at the weekend, as Walsall took on Brentford in the FA Cup.

STEWART Regan has said there’s no chance Celtic could be thrown out of the Scottish Cup after fans set off flares and firecrackers during the match against Stranraer - because the SFA have no power to do so.

Regan added: “Given that it’s the Scottish Cup, it’s our jurisdiction and we have started the process of investigating and getting facts.”

Dons hit snag in Cammy Bell bid

ABERDEEN have been hit with a blow in their bid to find a new goalkeeper after Rangers rejected a loan offer for Cammy Bell.

Danny Ward was recalled by Liverpool and Danny Rogers is still on loan at Falkirk, leaving Dons boss Derek McInnes with Scott Brown as his only senior goalie.

Rangers linked with Australian international Luongo

RANGERS have been linked with QPR midfielder Massimo Luongo.

The Australian international, 23, has fallen out of favour under Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and the Gers, Middlesbrough and MK Dons are all said to be tracking the former Tottenham youngster.

McCoist ‘still a legend’ insists Laudrup

ALLY McCoist is still a legend at Rangers, according to fellow Ibrox hero Brian Laudrup.

McCoist was out on gardening leave in December 2014 as the Rangers soap opera rumbled on.

But the Dane said: “I think Ally has shown as a player and a manager for so many years just how much of a club legend he is.

“There’s no doubt he is one of the greatest players and personalities the club has ever seen.” (Various)

Laudrup ‘nearly became Gers ambassador’

BRIAN Laudrup also revealed that he was asked to become a club ambassador during Charles Green’s tenure.

Laudrup added: “I was asked a couple of seasons back by Charles Green about becoming a club ambassador.

“But then Green left or disappeared or went to France - I’m not sure what happened - and I never heard a word again.”
