FATHER of Celtic target Dedryck Boyata revealed a British club have agreed a deal to sign the player from Manchester City, Leeds United have held talks with the agent of Motherwell’s young star Lee Erwin, and John Hughes had his first alcoholic drink in a decade after his Inverness CT side won the 2015 Scottish Cup.

Leeds United are looking to sign Motherwell striker Lee Erwin when the youngster’s contract expires in the summer. The player is also being linked with a move to Celtic, but it is being reported the player’s agent has travelled down to speak with the Yorkshire club’s owner Massimo Cellino. Dedryck Boyata’s rumoured switch to Celtic could become a formality in the next week after the player’s father admitted a British club, who’ve previously stated their interest, had reached an agreement with Manchester City. Bienvenu Boyata told Belgian TV channel RTBF his son is desperate for first team football to aid his development as a player. (HITC)

Still hope for Celtic to re-sign Jason Denayer

There may be hope for Celtic to re-sign defender Jason Denayer at some point next season after the defender revealed he’ll be seeking talks with Manchester City if he’s not afforded more playing time at the Etihad. Inverness CT boss John Hughes admitted his intention to end a 10-year self-imposed alcohol ban with a few drinks after his Inverness CT side won the Scottish Cup.

James Vincent’s late goal won it for the ten men after Falkirk’s Peter Grant had cancelled out Marley Watkins’s first half opener following Carl Tremarco’s red card.

It was the first major trophy Hughes has won in his 26-year career in senior football.

“I haven’t had a drink for about ten years, but I will be having one tonight, and tomorrow and the next day,” beamed Hughes. (Scotland on Sunday)

• Match winner James Vincent hailed his goal as the “greatest moment” of his life as he struck late to win the 2015 Scottish Cup Final.

Vincent was a second half substitute, coming on for Ryan Christie in the 72nd minute. He was richly rewarded for his 88th minute lung-bursting run when Marley Watkins’s tame shot was spilled at his feet by Falkirk stopper Jamie McDonald, leaving the midfielder with a simple finish. (The Herald)

Stuart McCall is ready to ask Kris Boyd to salvage Rangers’ bid to return to the top flight of Scottish football tomorrow. Kenny Miller wary of Motherwell threat

Kenny Miller admits Rangers are wary of Motherwell’s threat on the counter-attack as the two teams prepare to meet in the second leg of the Scottish Premiership Play-off Final.

Motherwell scored twice through counter attacks in Thursday’s first leg and had other opportunities to put the tie beyond Rangers before today’s clash at Fir Park.

“We’ll need to look at that to make sure it doesn’t happen because it happened, off the top of my head, five or six times in that game,” said Miller, “and had there been a better final ball or better decision made they might have had a few more chances. SFA hire denial expert to help solve ‘Bitegate’

The SFA have hired a dental expert prior to making a decision on whether to punish Dundee United’s striker Nadir Ciftci for allegedly biting Dundee’s Jim McAlister. The midfielder was furious at the time and appeared to accuse Ciftci of biting him on the leg after the two clashed in the Dundee derby. The incident was not picked up with TV cameras and McAlister was called into Hampden Park to have marks on his knee examined. (Daily Record)
