Graham Wallace has held secret talks with Dave King’s UK-based broker. The Sun have reported that the Ibrox chief executive and financial consultant Philip Nash were in London earlier this week. The pair met with an associate of King’s and the UK advisor of the Castlemilk born tycoon. It’s understood King is seeking assurances that a resolution for a new share issue will be on the agenda at next month’s powderkeg AGM. The meeting is proof that King is still very much involved behind the scenes. King is looking to invest in the club but was unable to participate in last month’s share initiative. (Sun)

John Guidetti bags first goal for Celtic then makes cheeky plea

John Guidetti bagged his first goal for Celtic last night before making a cheeky plea to Celtic fan and music star Paolo Nutini for tickets to his sold out gig as a reward. The Swede hit the opener in Celtic’s 3-0 routof championship side Hearts. He dedicated the goal to his dad Mike who celebrates his birthday today. He revealed that his gift was hanging in the balance and hopes Celtic diehard Paolo will step in to help. He said: “It’s my dad’s birthday and the goal was a good present for him. He was at the game, he always is. I’ve been trying to get him Paolo Nutini tickets because he’s a big fan. I heard he’s a Celtic fan but the gig is sold out. Maybe he can sort it out after my goal tonight!” (Various)

Celtic and Rangers avoid each other in League Cup draw

Celtic were handed a Glasgow derby in the quarter-finals drawof the League Cup but it isn’t against their usual rivals, they missed out on a long awaited clash with Rangers and will instead face Partick Thistle. The Parkhead side notched their first clean sheet in nine games with the 3-0 win and can now look forward to a home clash with the Jags. Rangers will face St Johnstone at Ibrox, while Hibs will faceDundee United who scored a late goal against Dundee to go through. Aberdeen will play at home against Hamilton Academical. (Various)

Kris Boyd fears for his place if he fails to find his scoring touch

The striker is now approaching October without a single goal in the league to his name, a feat unthinkable when compared to his previous form. Boyd though isn’t afraid to admit he needs to fix the problem, or face losing his place in the team. He said: “I base myself on scoring goals and I know I’m going to have to start scoring if I am going to keep myself in the team. I am not going to hide away from the fact I’ve missed chances. I won’t hide on the pitch. There is no greater feeling than scoring goals for this club and I want to get back to doing that. The most important thing is the team winning.” (Mail)
