No go for Rangers’ Serie A clash

Rangers have been left bewildered by a claim from Serie A side Crotone, stating the clubs were to play a friendly on 29 July. The club’s director Raffaele Vrenna Jnr announced the fixture, but the game would take place only 24 hours before Pedro Caixinha takes his men to Hillsborough for a friendly against Sheffield Wednesday. Hearts eye new number one

Former Hamilton Academical goalkeeper Michael McGovern could be the latest to be added to the Northern Irish contingent at Hearts, making the switch from Norwich City. The Tynecastle side are on the lookout for a new number one and McGovern, who came through the ranks at Celtic before spells with Stranraer, Falkirk, Ross County and Dundee United, is likely to no more than number two at Carrow Road after new boss Daniel Farke signed Angus Gunn, son of Canaries legend and former Scotland goalkeeper Bryan, from Manchester City.
