Celtic want long-term loan deal for Patrick Roberts

Ronny Deila says Celtic are keen to secure a long terms loan deal for Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts.

The £11m rated player is only being offered to the Parkhead side until the summer however Deila wants to take the player on a 12 to 18 month

deal adding that there is no point in signing him unless he can play in the Champions League. (Mail)

King joins Rangers Gets eye loan swoop for Harrison Reed

RANGERS could dip into the loan market again to land Southampton midfielder Harrison Reed on a deal until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old is on Mark Warburton’s radar and talks are being held between the two clubs, with Rangers hopeful of sealing a deal in the next two days. (Daily Mail)

HEARTS winger Billy King has joined Rangers on loan until the end of the season.

The clubs have agreed the surprise deal, with Hearts understood to be keen for the player to get more game time in the Championship.

The Tynecastle side have wingers Jamie Walker and Sam Nicholson due back from injury while King could make his debut against Falkirk on Saturday. (The Scotsman)

St Johnstone boss accuses SPFL of disrespect

Tommy Wright has accused the SPFL of two counts of ‘disrespect’ towards the Perth club ahead of their League Cup semi-final showdown with Hibs. Wright says the league body has reneged on a promise to issues extra tickets to supporters just five days before tomorrow’s match against at Hibs. He also has hit out at a mocked-up picture of player Michael O’Halloran in a Rangers strip which appeared on the SPFL website. (Mail)

Celtic manager Ronny Deila says he seees similarities between defender Kieran Tierney and Martin Odegaard, now at Real Madrid, who he mentored when he was manager at Stromsgodset. The Parkhead boss says the two players have a similar work ethic. (Sun)

Tony Watt signs for Blackburn

Former Celtic striker Tony Watt has become Paul Lambert’s latest loan signing for Blackburn Rovers.

The Charlton player was due to move to Cardiff City on loan but the move fell through. Cash-strapped Blackburnare £80 million in debt and are set to offload Jordan Rhodes to Middlesbrough for £11m with Watt seen as an ideal replacement. (Sun)

Ajer hints at Celtic move

KRISTOFFER Ajer has hinted that he could join Celtic before the transfer window shuts.

The towering 17-year-old, who spent time at Parkhead earlier this month, has admitted that ‘there has been dialogue’ with the Hoops.

His contract with IK Start is due to run out in the summer and a host of top clubs around Europe are keeping tabs on the midfielder - but Celtic could have an advantage thanks to Ronny Deila’s presence. (Scottish Sun)

Riordan lands York deal

DEREK Riordan looks to have won a deal with York City, after spending time on trial with the Bootham Crescent side.

The former Hibs and Celtic forward has been struggling to find a club, but spent time getting his fitness up at the Easter Road side’s training centre.

Hearts eye Wighton

HEARTS could make a move for Dundee striker Craig Wighton.

The 18-year-old, who spent time on loan at Raith Rovers in the first part of the season, is believed to be top of Robbie Neilson’s shopping list.

Hearts could face competition from the likes of Celtic, Southampton and Arsenal who have all been tracking the youngster but the Tynecastle side have lodged a bid, understood to be around £80,000, to try and tempt Wighton to Edinburgh. (Scottish Sun)

Barrie McKay ‘good enough for EPL’

MARK Warburton believes Rangers forward Barrie McKay is good enough for the English Premier League.

Just a few months after suggesting ‘keeper Wes Foderingham could one day play for England, Warburton was keen to draw attention to another Ibrox star.

He said: “If he wants to, Barrrie has the opportunity to go and play and the very highest level too.

“Technically he is first class and I just want Barrie to recognise the opportunity he has got.” (Various)

DUNDEE United have loaned Charlie Telfer to Livingston for the rest of the season.

The 20-year-old, who cost United £200,000 after moving from Rangers 18 months ago, has only made eight appearances this term.(The Scotsman)

One in, one out at Falkirk

FALKIRK have signed ex-Hibs defender Kevin McCann while allowing Kieran Duffie to exit.

Injury has plagued the 23-year-old and he has yet to make an appearance this season.

But McCann, 28, who was most recently with Warriors in Singapore, has signed until the end of the season, with manager Peter Houston keen to draw on McCann’s experience. (BBC)
