McNamara confident about ‘new look’ United

The Tannadice boss admitted that the previous season had grinded to a halt after the sale of Stuart Armstrong and Gary Mackay-Steven to Celtic in the January transfer window, but he believes that new signings Rodney Sneijder and Darko Bodul are looking to make a positive impact: “It was difficult for us in January for different reasons. You can’t go out and spend a lot of money to replace players, and you’re relying on players getting up to speed quickly.” McNamara said. ““Rodney is in a similar scenario to Darko in terms of his career, possibly the same as Nadir a couple of years ago. It’s an opportunity for them to make a name for themselves.” (Express)

They don’t lose many goals, especially at home, and they have good individual talent at the top end of the pitch.” (Press & Journal)

Partick still seeking striker

The Jags are currently struggling to get what they want from the transfer window, having already missed out on Lyle Taylor earlier this summer, and manager Alan Archibald admits he is frustrated by their lack of options up front: “It has been the main priority for some time and it has been very frustrating. It is hard because we have only got Kris Doolan and it is not fair on him to only have that on his shoulders and to lead us through a season. (Evening Times)
