CELTIC are reportedly targeting a former striker on loan from Norwich.

Norwich paid £5 million for Gary Hooper two years ago but it seems Celtic bosses are eager to bring him back to Parkhead.

It is unlikely to happen any time soon as the Canaries are reportedly asking that Celtic pay the striker’s £32,00-a-week wage and a loan fee before he can go. (Scottish Sun)

Rangers held last ditch meeting with Scott Allan

Hibs boss Alan Stubbs reportedly believes Rangers were still trying to secure Scott Allan on Friday before the 23-year-old signed for Celtic.

Stubbs said he thinks Rangers were trying to persuade Allan to reject Celtic’s offer and wait to sign a pre-contract agreement at Ibrox in January.

Hibs had previously rejected three bids by Rangers to sign the youngster but accepted a £7,000-a-week deal last week from Celtic. (Scottish Sun)

Knives are out at Tannadice for Jackie McNamara

Just four games into the season, Dundee United boss Jackie McNamara is rumoured to be facing calls to be axed.

A minority of United supporters were reportedly heard chanting ‘Jackie, Jackie, get to f**@!’ during the Taysiders crushing defeat to Hamilton at New Douglas Park.

Tension has been bubbling at Tannadice since the sale of Gary Mackay-Steven and Stuart Armstrong to Celtic in January, followed by a poor second half of the season.

It was also revealed that McNamara received a cut from the profits of the players’ sale, which further angered United fans. (Daily Record)

Mark Warburton defends Nathan Oduwa

Rangers manager Mark Warburton has been forced to defuse a furore surrounding new loanee Nathan Oduwa.

The Tottenham loan star is at the centre of a row after being accused of show-boating during the match at Alloa on Sunday.

While the Ibrox boss tried to defend the young player, he reportedly admitted he will need to have a word with the England under-21 forward. (Evening Times)

Ronny Deila: We knew last year Scott Allan was a Celtic player

Celtic boss Ronny Deila has revealed that Celtic were reportedly chasing Scott Allan since last year.

Allan was greeted with a standing ovation before the Inverness Caley Thistle match when he was presented to fans at Parkhead.

Deila said that Allan was watched at several games since last year and will likely not be Celtic’s last signing before the transfer window closes.

Celtic have also reportedly monitored Belgian left-back Sébastien Pocognoli at West Bromwich. (Evening Times)

Inverness Caley Thistle midfielder has reportedly expressed his hope that the club can keep hold of his fellow midfielder Ryan Christie.

English Premier League club Swansea are rumoured to have sent scouts to monitor the under-21 Scotland international.

Dundee’s Scott Bain eyes Scotland spot

Dundee keeper Scott Bain has his eye firmly on a Scotland call-up after a “wondersave” against St Johnstone at the weekend.

Bain got a finger to the Graham Cummins’ lob to send the ball over the bar to rob the Saints of an equiliser.

Bain is reportedly hoping to feature in the Scotland side as Gordon Strachan steers the squad towards crunch Euro 2016 qualifiers against Georgia and Germany next month. (Daily Record)
