Celtic target Davor Lovren

Celtic are reportedly keen to secure a second Dinamo Zagreb player this year after showing an interest in Davor Lovren.

Croatian newpsaper Vecernji List is reporting that Celtic have been keeping tabs on the 17-year-old, having signed Croatia under-21 international Jozo Simunovic from Zagreb in the summer.

The Bhoys may have to fight off interest from Liverpool who also signed Lovren’s older brother, Dejan Lovren. (HITC)

Swansea eye move for Callum McGregor

Swansea City are rumoured to be considering a bid for Celtic star Callum McGregor but could be put off the £3 million price tag.

Embattled manager Garry Monk may not be in the hotseat by the January transfer window but it is likely Swansea will still need new faces to turn the club’s fortunes around.

Mark Warburton looks at non-league clubs for talent

Rangers boss Mark Warburton will be hunting for new signings in January with the war chest chairman Dave King has promised but reportedly will be looking at Conference level teams or below.

Warburton has said he is more likely to unearth new talent at non-league clubs, saying: “There are diamonds at that level. I’d be prepared to bring in someone from non-league if we felt they were good enough.” (Scottish Sun)

Stuart McCall to quit Scotland role

Stuart McCall is set to give up his role as Gordon Strachan’s assistant with the Scottish national team to return to club football.

Dundee United close to landing Eiji Kawashima

United have edged close to securing free agent Eiji Kawashima after the UK Border Agency granted the club a licence to sponsor his bid to enter the country.

Tannadice have already waited a month since agreeing the move for Kawashima but the club will now face an SFA tribunal next week to get his permit. (Sunday Mail)

Neilson desperate to keen Osman Sow

Robbie Neilson expects considerable interest in Osman Sow when next month’s transfer window opens but is hoping to keep him at Tynecastle.

Sow’s contract expires at the end of the season but Neilson is confident he can extend the player’s stay in Edinburgh as well as bring in addition firepower to help the striker. (Scottish Sun)

Don Givens: Any new manager will have Stokes problems

Anthony Stokes could be forced to make a fresh break from Celtic with Cardiff and Leeds both showing interest in the striker.

Former Republic of Ireland under-21 boss Don Givens reportedly believes that any new manager will discover the same problems with the player as Celtic boss Ronny Deila.

Givens had previously criticised Stokes for going AWOL before a clash with Germany in 2007. Roy Keane and Giovanni Trapattoni have also had run-ins with the 27-year-old in the past. (Sunday Mail)
