Peterhead boss Jim McInally has accused Ian Cathro of being “disrespectful” towards the League Two side in his post-match comments. Following the 2-1 defeat, the Hearts boss said his side were still gelling ahead of the new season. McInally pointed to the fact that his side started with seven new players and thought Peterhead deserved more credit for their win. (Daily Record)

Celtic fans have been warned about a fake crowdfunding page which purportedly seeks to launch legal action in order to strip Rangers of their ‘EBT titles’. The campaign raised over £2,000 before it was removed, with prominent Twitter accounts @CelticResearch and @rangerstaxcase telling their followers that it was a fake. (Scottish Sun)

Hibs closer to Stokes

Neil Lennon has had further talks with signing target Anthony Stokes and says that while it would be wrong to say he is confident of getting his man, he does believe they are edging closer to an agreement. “He has made his point very eloquently and we have made ours,” said the Easter Road manager. “It could be 50/50 or we may have put ourselves in a strong position.” (The Scotsman)

Kilmarnock eye duo

Kilmarnock are eyeing moves for ex-Motherwell striker Lee Erwin and Celtic goalkeeper Leo Fasan. Fasan, 23, has been training with the Rugby Park club in the hope of winning a deal, while Erwin is thought to be available having failed to break into the Leeds United first-team. The attacker spent time last season on loan at Oldham Athletic. (Scottish Sun/Daily Express)

Griffiths winning fitness race

Leigh Griffiths is likely to recover from a calf injury in time to face Rosenborg next Wednesday. The striker is a doubt for the crucial Champions League fixture and, with Moussa Dembele already ruled out until September, it would leave Celtic with no natural striker for the match. However, early indications are that Griffiths will make it in time. (Scottish Sun)

St Johnstone want Miles Storey

St Johnstone have been given permission by Aberdeen to talk to Miles Storey over a move to McDiarmid Park. The former Inverness CT attacker has failed to make an impact at Pittodrie since signing last summer and Tommy Wright looks set to hand the player a fresh start in Scottish football. Kilmarnock and Partick Thistle are also said to be interested. (Daily Express)

McInnes remains confident

A Europa League play-off round tie against potentially glamorous opposition is now just 90 minutes away for Aberdeen if they can secure a result in Cyprus next week. Derek McInnes knows there’s still much work to accomplish. But the Pittodrie manager is pleased his side have not left themselves with as much to do as the last round, when they headed to Bosnia on the back of a 1-1 draw with NK Siroki Brijeg. Caixinha wants to put on a show

Pedro Caixinha wants his Rangers side to put on a show for the travelling fans in Sunday’s friendly at Sheffield Wednesday. Thousands of Rangers fans will make their way to Hillsborough for the clash against the Championship outfit. The Ibrox men beat Watford 2-1 in a closed-doors friendly on Wednesday night and boss Caixinha is hoping they put their best foot forward again. (The Scotsman)
