Celtic eye loan deal for England U21 striker Tammy Abraham

Celtic are keen to sign Chelsea’s much sought after striker Tammy Abraham on a season-long loan. The 19-year-old scored 26 goals on loan at Bristol City last season and a clutch of clubs, including Newcastle United, Swansea City and Brighton, are interested in the forward. Now Celtic have also shown an interest in the England Under-21 frontman. Parkhead manager Brendan Rodgers worked with Abraham when he was a kid in the Chelsea academy. (The Sun)

Linfield want Champions League tie switched to Thursday 13 July

Linfield want their possible Champions League qualifier against Celtic switched to Thursday 13 July to avoid clashing with 12 July marches in Belfast. The clubs will meet in the second qualifying round if Linfield can overcome La Fiorita of San Marino in the first round. The tie is scheduled for 11 or 12 July but that is at the height of the marching season. (Daily Record)

Serbia winger Srdjan Plavsic back on Celtic’s radar

Celtic’s head of recruitment Lee Congerton is to fly out to Poland to watch Serbian Under-21 international winger Srdjan Plavsic. The diminutive Red Star Belgrade wide man is only 5ft 5in and is nicknamed the ‘Atomic Ant’. He is being seen as a potential replacement for Patrick Roberts. Serbia and are due to play Spain on Friday in the European U21 Championship in Poland. (Daily Mail)

Shaun Maloney to snub Aberdeen move

Scotland international Shaun Maloney is set to turn down the chance to move to Aberdeen in favour of singing a new one-year deal with Hull City. The former Celtic attacker grew up in the Granite City and had been heavily linked with a move to Pittodrie, although Hibs were also understood to be interested in the player. But Maloney now looks poised to stay with Hull who were relegated from the Premier League last season. (Daily Express)

Hearts in talks to end Juwon Oshaniwa’s Tynecastle stay

Hearts are to hold talks with defender Juwon Oshaniwa in a bid to end his stay at Tynecastle. The Nigerian international, who is one of the highest paid players at the club, has one season remaining on his three-year contract. He has fallen out of favour at the Gorgie side and did not play a single competitive match last season. (Edinburgh Evening News)
