Celtic pursue Belgian striker Tom De Sutter

Belgian press are reporting that Club Brugge striker Tom De Sutter has been linked with a move to Celtic, but only if they are successful in their Champions League group stage qualification. The 30-year-old moved to Club Brugge in 2013, scoring 33 goals in 97 appearances for the Belgian side. It is reported that the Hoops will need the finances from a successful European qualification, in order to complete the transfer. (Nieuwsblad)

Aberdeen can ‘finish the job’ against Kairat Almaty

Derek McInnes last night backed his team to finish the job at Pittodrie after Kenny McLean’s precious away goal in their Europa League third-round qualifying tie first leg against Kairat Almaty in Kazakhstan. McInnes said: “We said before the game how important the away goal could be. It can prove pivotal. Every time we have managed to score an away goal, we have always progressed. I said to them at half-time, go and win the second half and I believe we will win the tie.” (Scotsman)

Hibs chief executive quiet on “bigger club” agreement

Leeann Dempster has refused to quash claims the club has reneged on a verbal agreement with midfielder Scott Allan to allow him to move on if a “bigger club” came in for him. The assurance was allegedly given when the player joined the Easter Road outfit last summer but, while he wants the club to act on it and has handed in a written transfer request in the hope of a move to Rangers, Hibs are adamant they will not sell their key man to Championship rivals. Transfer talk continues around Virgil van Dijk

Celtic manager Ronny Deila told the press that the 24-year-old defender is “calm” about the speculation surrounding his future at Celtic Park and a potential move to Everton. “Is Virgil calm over his situation? Hibs set to sign John McGinn

Hibs have revealed they are close to signing former St Mirren midfielder John McGinn.

The Scotland Under-21 player has been training with Alan Stubbs’ squad for a few days and a “development fee” for the 20-year-old has been agreed between the clubs. (Evening News)
