Celtic in for Sigthorsson

CELTIC could make a move for Iceland striker Kolbeinn Sigthorsson, who is struggling to settle at Ligue 1 side Nantes.

The Hoops were linked with the 25-year-old during Neil Lennon’s tenure, but the ex-HK forward move to France from Ajax for around €3.5 million.

However, he has scored just two goals in 15 appearances and could be allowed to leave Nantes in this window for around £2.5 million. (Various)

Fletcher an option for Hoops

CELTIC could also offer Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher a pre-contract deal, with the ex-Hibs striker’s deal at the Stadium of Light up this summer.

Wolves linked with Cummings

WOLVES are reportedly keen on Hibernian striker Jason Cummings, as the Molineux side look to replace hitman Benik Afobe, who joined Bournemouth for more than £8 million.

The Championship side have had Cummings watched before but are yet to make any offers for the Scotland Under-21 international. (Sky Sports)

Windass laughs off Cetlic ‘dream’ tweet

JOSH Windass has set the record straight on a tweet purporting to have been sent from the Accrington Stanley midfielder’s account. Windass is due to join Rangers in the summer.

Windass tweeted: “Just been made aware of this, someone has way too much time on their hands. This is fake” in response to a tweet reading: “Watching this and thinking Imagine pulling on a Celtic jersey, playing for them and getting paid for it... What a f*****g dream.” (InsideFutbol)

SFA to probe Celtic fans behaviour at Stranraer

THE SFA’s compliance officer Tony McGlennan is to examine reports of alleged offensive singing and the use of flares and fireworks by Celtic fans at the Scottish Cup tie against Stranraer.

The kick-off was delayed after travelling fans lit flares and smoke bombs.

Stokes wants Hibs move

ANTHONY Stokes reportedly wants to join Hibernian on loan, despite interest from Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Stokes, who had a spell at Easter Road under John Hughes, is expected to leave Celtic on loan this window, with a number of clubs keen on landing the Irish striker.

But the former Arsenal youngster is believed to favour a move east and is excited at the prospect of working with Alan Stubbs. (Scottish Sun)

Rangers eye Matty Stevens

RANGERS have been linked with Barnet teenager Matty Stevens, as Mark Warburton looks to bolster his squad.

The 17-year-old, who had spells with Farnborough and Reading before joining the Bees, is on the fringes of the first-team squad and has been the subject of failed bids from Swansea. (Get West London)

Deila slams smoke bomb fans

CELTIC manager Ronny Deila has condemned fans who let off flares and fireworks at the Scottish Cup tie against Stranraer at Stair Park.

Pyrotechnics were thrown onto the pitch from the west terrace as stewards and police attempted to maintain order.

Deila said: “We don’t want this. It’s something that is making a bad reputation for the club. So this is absolutely something we need to get stopped. It is not positive for anybody and we, as a club, don’t want to have anything to do with this.” (The Scotsman)

Sporting Lisbon stick £1m loan fee on Carlos Mane

CELTIC target Carlos Mane could cost £1 million just to loan, after Sporting Lisbon took steps to cash in on the Portugal Under-21 wide man.

PLYMOUTH are leading the chase to sign Hibs defender Jordon Forster on loan, but could face competition from a host of other clubs.

ABERDEEN have been dealt a blow after Liverpool recalled on-loan goalkeeper Danny Ward.

The Anfield youngster has been in impressive form for the Dons in more than 20 appearances, but has been recalled by Jurgen Klopp.

DEREK McInnes has hit out at Hearts after Aberdeen exited the Scottish Cup at Tynecastle.

The Dons boss took issue with how Alim Ozturk had behaved in the dying minutes of the cup clash.

An enraged McInnes said: “There is nothing wrong with Ozturk when the cross comes in. Jordan McGhee gets the foul and Ozturk is fine. Then all of a sudden he’s gone from the front post area to the edge of the box before going down.” (Daily Record)

Waghorn hits goals milestone

RANGERS striker Martyn Waghorn hit a hat-trick as the Ibrox club demolished Cowdenbeath in the Scottish Cup, becoming the first player in the UK to hit 25 goals this season.
