Although blurry. the picture does appear to be the Sunderland and Scotland forward. Is a move to Celtic on the cards?

Celtic among clubs chasing Ziyech

CELTIC have been named as one of a handful of clubs tracking Twente midfielder Hakim Ziyech.

The 22-year-old, who joined from Heerenveen in 2014, is also attracting interest from Leicester, Swansea, AC Milan, Scalke, Anderlecht and Borussia Dortmund.

With 11 goals in 19 appearances for Twente, Ziyech could attract bids of up to £6 million. (De Telegraaf)

Old Firm target Sow

BOTH Celtic and Rangers have been linked with Hearts star Osman Sow, and could face competition from a host of English clubs for the Swede’s services.

Hearts are keen on extending his stay in Gorgie, with Sow having bagged 11 goals in 26 appearances this season.

It is believed that Hearts are prepared to offer Sow more money, but fear losing him on a pre-contract agreement.

The striker could yet stay with Hearts, as he is in no hurry to decide his future. (Evening News)

Alston a wanted man

FALKIRK star Blair Alston is a target for a number of clubs in the Scottish Premiership and down south, according to reports.

The 23-year-old, who netted in the 1-1 draw with Hibs at the weekend, has been in fine form for the Bairns and has been attracting attention. (Various)

Saints want end to O’Halloran saga

St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright says he wants a line drawn under the speculation surrounding Michael O’Halloran who has been the subject of two bids by Rangers. The Perth side want to keep the forward but would be persuaded to sell for the right offer. (Daily Record)

Riordan gets York City chance

EX-Hibs striker Derek Riordan is on trial at York City after Jackie McNamara gave the out-of-work forward a chance.

Riordan had posted on LinkedIn that he was looking for a new club and former Tannadice boss McNamara has taken a punt on Riordan, 33.

Riordan could play in a match this week and if he impresses, could land a short-term deal. (Daily Record)

Falk boost for Hoops

RASMUS Falk has handed Celtic a boost by confirming he will leave Odense at the end of his contract.

This could prompt the Danes to seek money for the 24-year-old midfielder to avoid losing him for nothing, with around £150,000 thought to be enough to take Falk to Glasgow. (InsideFutbol)

Erik ‘turned down Serie A’

CELTIC new boy Erik Sviatchenko signed a four-and-a-half year deal at Parkhead, snubbing interest from France, Italy and the Netherlands.

The player’s agent said that Celtic were selected ‘after careful consideration’.

But the Denmark national team coach Age Hareide told Danish newspaper BT that he would have preferred to see Sviatchenko move to Germany, adding: “I am not sure whether [joining Celtic] will move him up the next level in relation to the national team.” (Various)

Vlad in Gers plea

VLADISLAVS Gutkovskis has begged Rangers to sign him up after a trial period in Glasgow.

Rangers haven’t made any bids for the 20-year-old Skonto Riga striker since he caught the eye by scoring a hat-trick in a bounce game.

And the Latvian club have had other offers for Gutkovskis, but the striker himself is keen on joining Rangers. (Daily Record)

Houston ‘sorry’ over McGinn dive claims

PETER Houston has apologised for accusing John McGinn of being a diver.

The Falkirk boss suggested that the ex-St Mirren midfielder ‘went down too easily’ when he was fouled by Luke Leahy in the box during the Bairns’ 1-1 draw with Hibs.

Houston said in a statement: “In hindsight, John had a strong case for a penalty and fair credit to him for attempting to play on. I’ve called Alan Stubbs to apologise for the comments that were made.” (STV Sport)

Doolan extends Jags stay

PARTICK Thistle striker Kris Doolan has extended his stay at Firhill, penning a new deal keeping him with the Jags until 2019.

The 29-year-old, who has been with Partick since 2009, has signed a new three-and-a-half year deal, according to reports. (The Scotsman)

Elyounoussi confirms Celtic interest

MOLDE striker Mohamed Elyounoussi has confirmed that Celtic are interested in him.

He said yesterday: “It’s true that there is interest, but it’s there for elsewhere too. Time will tell.”
