France legend Zinedine Zidane has told Celtic star Moussa Dembele to keep his head up and be patient after the 20-year-old was snubbed by national team boss Didier Deschamps for the upcoming double-header. Many had backed Dembele to earn a place in the squad after his terrific performances this season, and Zidane feels it’s only a matter of time before the striker makes the breakthrough. Aberdeen want Devlin

Aberdeen are poised to make a move for Hamilton Accies defender Mikey Devlin. The 23-year-old has impressed this season despite Hamilton’s toils in the Ladbrokes Premiership, and Derek McInnes is keen to bring the defender to Pittodrie with current centre-back Ash Taylor potentially on the way out. Devlin still has a year left to run on his current contract. (Scottish Sun)

Motherwell and Dundee chase Storey

Another player who could be leaving Aberdeen is striker Miles Storey. The 23-year-old has struggled for regular playing time since making a summer switch from Inverness CT and has attracted attention from Motherwell and Dundee among clubs down south. Storey was a hit in his first year in Scottish football with Inverness, netting 13 goals in 37 appearances. (Scottish Sun)

McLean ‘country’s best player’

Aberdeen winger Jonny Hayes has hailed team-mate Kenny McLean as the “best player in the country” over the past two months. The midfielder, whose tremendous form has helped second place Aberdeen build up a eight-point lead over Rangers in the Ladbrokes Premiership, was disappointed to have missed out on a place in Gordon Strachan’s 30-man Scotland squad for the upcoming double-header. Flood: Lowest point of my career

Dundee United’s current malaise is the lowest point of Willo Flood’s career, the Irish midfielder has revealed. The Tannadice side have picked up just one league win since the turn of the year, having led the division at Christmas, and have now slid down into fourth place. (Evening Telegraph)

Celtic not in decline

Scott Sinclair insists Celtic are not slacking off and, instead, the players are fired up in their bid to go the entire domestic season unbeaten. Brendan Rodgers’ side have wavered a little bit recently with St Mirren giving the Parkhead side a scare in the Scottish Cup before Rangers snatched a late point at Celtic Park. Even last Sunday’s win over Dundee wasn’t to the usual high standards the champions-elect have set for themselves this season, but Sinclair is adamant the whole squad is dedicated to the task at hand. Naismith inspired by Miller

Former Rangers striker Steven Naismith has revealed he’s been inspired to continue playing well into his 30s by current Gers hitman Kenny Miller. The 37-year-old has been Rangers’ most consistent attacking threat this season despite his advancing years. (Scottish Sun)

Lowest crowd since 1902

Scotland could play in front of their lowest home crowd since 1902 tonight. It is understood fewer than 6,000 tickets have been sold for the friendly with Canada at Easter Road. Scotland played before 5,284 when they faced Wales in March 1902. (The Scotsman)
