Ashley to sue Rangers

Mike Ashley and Rangers will once again go head to head in court as the Sports Direct tycoon sues the club for £1 million.

The dispute centres around the infamous Rangers retail deal, with Ashley said to be annoyed at the club’s attempt to get themselves out of the agreement, made by previous chief executive Charles Green, before serving their seven-year notice period.

A hearing has been set for 1 December. (Daily Record)

Mark Warburton should leave Ibrox while his reputation is still in tact, according to Sky Sports pundit and former Celtic star Davie Provan.

The Rangers boss has been linked with the vacancy at Wigan Athletic after the Lancashire side sacked boss Gary Caldwell.

Warburton insisted last week there was no truth to the rumours, but Provan believes the Englishman should be looking to return down south if an offer comes in. (Scottish Sun)

Rangers weigh up glamour friendly

Rangers are considering a January trip to Germany to play Bundesliga side Red Bull Leipzig, who have Scottish international Oliver Burke among their ranks.

Scottish football will have a winter break after the set of fixtures on Hogmanay, including Rangers’ meeting with rivals Celtic in the Ladbrokes Premiership.

It will mean three weeks off for the Ibrox club, and Warburton is looking to keep fitness levels up while they wait for the following round of fixtures. (Daily Mail)
