A statement from the English Championship club said: “Rotherham United can confirm that Alan Stubbs and John Doolan have resigned from their post as head coach and first team coach of Hibernian FC.

“Rotherham United are delighted to confirm that the club has subsequently appointed Alan Stubbs as the new first team manager and John Doolan as assistant manager.

“Both Alan and John have signed three-year contracts at AESSEAL New York Stadium.”

The new management team is expected to be unveiled at a press conference on Thursday.

Hibs have so far refused to comment on the departure of Stubbs, who had a year remaining on his contract with the Edinburgh club.
