Aberdeen-born Murdoch made 60 appearances for Fleetwood after quitting the Bairns in 2013 to move south but made just five starts last term and spent two months on loan at Northampton after dropping down Highbury boss Graham Alexander’s pecking order.

Murdoch’s Dingwall arrival comes just 24 hours after former Hartlepool left-back Darren Holden clinched a free transfer to the Highlands.

Keeper Scott Fox, midfielders Michael Gardyne and Ian McShane and striker Brian Graham have also checked in with County this summer.
