He helped Jim Duffy’s side reach the semi-finals of the Betfred Cup and qualify for the Scottish Premiership play-offs, where they were defeated by Dundee United.

With his contract due to expire at the end of this coming season, Lindsay will look to establish himself at the higher level, and perhaps do enough to earn an extension at Parkhead by impressing Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers.

The centre midfielder becomes County’s second summer signing after the capture of former St Mirren defender Sean Kelly from AFC Wimbledon.

County manager Jim McIntyre told the club’s website: “Jamie is a young exciting talent who had a fantastic season on loan at Morton last year and I am delighted to get him to our Club. I would like to thank Celtic for assisting in getting this deal done.”
