Ross County 5 - 1 Hamilton: Five-star Staggies make it 33 games unbeaten

DEREK Adams savoured Ross County’s title achievement and hailed his record-breaking players as “simply magnificent”, writes Alasdair Fraser at Victoria Park.

The Staggies swept aside the visitors by the same margin as they had lost their only league defeat all season at Hamilton.

Adams said: “It was a fantastic performance and we showed why we are top of the league and resounding champions. We are 33 games unbeaten. It is a simply magnificent day for this football club and the supporters.”

County sparked the party off in style after just six minutes, Colin McMenamin tucking away his 19th of the season from the edge of the six-yard box. They were 2-0 up four minutes before half-time when Richard Brittain sent a powerful low strike inside the right hand post.

James McAlister hit a 25-yard reply, which bobbled past Michael Fraser. But, within 30 seconds, Stuart Kettlewell had restored the advantage.

Brittain smashed the fourth from the right of the box after 55 minutes and Michael Gardyne stuck away the fifth.
