Rose add to squad with new keeper

LINLITHGOW ROSE have prepared for the new East Region junior football season by adding to their squad with the signing of goalkeeper Steve Oliver from Newtongrange.

They have also snapped up Kevin Donnelly from Arniston and Michael McDermott from Bonnyrigg.

Rose still have Scott Murphy and Neill Bennett on the transfer list but Lee Dair and John Fallon have found new clubs.

Bathgate have added former Rangers and Dunfermline player Ian Nicholson to the pool which went so close to a league and Scottish Cup double last year.

Bonnyrigg won two cups last season but boss Pat Glynn has tightened up the defence by signing goalkeeper Craig Coyle from Berwick Rangers.

He replaces Steve Ellison, who has retired.

Whitburn have taken on Darren Moonie and Alan Mooney from Armadale and Fauldhouse respectively, while Andy Roberts of Bo'ness will put pen to paper tomorrow.

The Central Park side are still on the lookout for a keeper and midfield player to beef up their squad but veteran Paul Taylor has signed on for yet another season, making it his 18th in a remarkable career at the club.

Penicuik have made only one signing in Kevin Milne from Newtongrange but need several more to replace as many as nine players who are finding it difficult to combine football with work commitments.

Musselburgh signed Arniston's Ross Barnes to add to their strike force while Armadale have been very busy.

Manager Jimmy McLaughlin has signed Calum Rarity and Craig Young, both from Harthill, and David Murphy from West Calder.

Nicky Brookfield has signed on from Edinburgh United to rejoin McLaughlin, who was his boss at the Capital side.
