Rodgers banned for calling people of Fife ‘mutants’

Rodgers has been banned for two matches after calling 
Dunfermline’s Josh Falkingham a cheat and labelling the people of Fife “mutants” during an 
explosive Twitter rant.

The extraordinary tirade followed the powder-keg clash between the League 1 rivals at East End Park on 27 September when the visitors’ Jamie Redman, 
Steven Noble and Jordan Brown were sent off in Pars’ 2-0 victory.

Peterhead were incensed by perceived play-acting by Falkingham and, just hours later, Rodgers sent a series of swiftly-deleted Tweets. He wrote: “Positive from today is that at least I’m not Josh Falkingham...what a horrible cheating ******** of a boy!!!!!” Another Tweet described the people of Fife as “absolute creatures” and “mutants”.

Rodgers will miss Saturday’s match against Airdrieonians, while the second match of the ban will be suspended until the end of the season.
