Redknapp to stay on at Loftus Road

Harry Redknapp will remain as manager of Queens Park Rangers despite the club’s relegation from the Barclays Premier League.

Club owner Tony Fernandes held talks with Redknapp yesterday and said: “I don’t think there was any point where he was thinking of not being with us and continuing this project he has embarked upon.”

Redknapp was appointed in November on a two-and-a-half-year deal with the team bottom of the table, but couldn’t engineer an escape from the relegation zone despite heavy spending on players in January.

Relegation was confirmed on Sunday with a 0-0 draw at Reading. Fernandes said: “Harry will not be forced to sell any players he wants to keep.”
