Already eliminated from contention for the Champions League knock-out stages, Malmo required a point and the hope that Shakhtar Donetsk would lose at PSG as they attempted to drop into the Europa League.

The Parisians did Malmo a favour with a 1-0 victory in the French capital, but they couldn’t even come close to that elusive point they required as Real ran riot at the Bernabeu.

Karim Benzema got things started on 12 minutes before doubling the home side’s advantage a short time later. Cristiano Ronaldo then netted the next four goals in the match, taking his tally in the group stages to 10 in this year’s competition, a new record for the legendary attacker.

Mateo Kovačić then rounded off the scoring.

Malmo were eliminated from the Europa League thanks to their weaker head-to-hear with Shakhtar, who they defeated 1-0 at home but lost 4-0 away.
