Ray McKinnon wants quick Brechin recovery

Brechin City will try to recover from a surprise 3-2 defeat against Stranraer when they take on neighbours Forfar in one of two Second Division matches taking place tonight.

“Up until Saturday the only team I had lost to in the league was Queen of the South,” said Glebe Park manager Ray McKinnon, who side are third in the division, seven points off second-placed Alloa. “We played a part in our own downfall as we never killed Stranraer off in the first half when we had the chance.”

Ewan Moyes, Jonny Brown and Craig Molloy are injured and on-loan St Johnstone youngster Gareth Rodger is struggling with a hamstring problem.

Forfar, who have the chance to move back into a play-off place ahead of Arbroath, have everyone available with the exception of long-term injured goalkeeper Derek Soutar and midfielder Keith Gibson.

East Fife need to defeat Stranraer at Bayview to improve their chances of avoiding a relegation dogfight. “If we can defend better and win we can still climb the table, before the end of the season,” said manager Billy Brown, who has a full squad to pick from.

Stranraer can open up an eight-point gap on their hosts but must do without defender David MacGregor because of a knee problem.
