'Very grown up, glad to see Gerrard changes'; 'Character is strong'; 'Winning in Europe isn't for everyone'; Fans react to Rangers 3-2 win over Standard Liege and Europa League progression

It wasn’t a vintage performance, but Rangers got the job done against Standard Liege and qualified for the last 32 of the Europa League.

Far from being disappointed with the first half performance, most fans took positives from the resilience of the team to come back from a losing position, twice, to win and ensure more continental competition after Christmas.

@SimonOHara92: “First time in 24 games this season that I've felt we were lethargic. Very positive sign that we were able to grind out a result without being close to our best. I'm absolutely buzzing with this result and delighted to qualify with a game to spare. What a team

@CF3Loyal:Rangers progress under Steven Gerrard” - print that on your newspapers! A professional performance from Rangers tonight, we look like a very decent European side. Despite not being at our best we still found a way to win and it could have been more if it wasn’t for their GK. Great achievement reaching the knockout rounds for the second consecutive year.”

@baz_dunn: “We were miles off tonight, but give them even more credit for hanging in there, the one bit of football we really produced got the winner. In a funny way we needed that, learn to win when not at it. Massive step.”

William Stephen: “Very grown up second half from us, much better and glad to see Gerrard making changes with the formation and subs in plenty time tonight too. Wee Alfie’s face sitting in the stands though, hilarious, love him. Their goalie made some cracking saves too, we gotta take a lot of confidence from that match. Roll on the good times.”

@Kingpindazza: “Good result. Wasn't the best, but we still won. Steven Gerrard's blue and white army. Winning in Europe isn't for everyone. We go again Sunday!”

@RS1872: “Absolutely amazing to come from behind twice and find a way to win differently to what we’ve had to do this season... tremendous effort from the lads tonight, onto L32 we go.”Ronnie Junior Mcdonald: “Wasn't Rangers’ finest game but absolutely brilliant result and gritty comeback....and well done on reaching Europe with a game to spare.....bring on the weekend.”

Robert Briggs: “Well done lads! Character is strong. Still a lot to do but great stuff!”
