Allan McGregor: The Rangers keep was helpless with Aberdeen’s opener. Had to move smartly to save a long-range effort from Jonny Hayes and then made two good saves right at the end from Liam Scales and Connor Barron. 7

James Tavernier: Dealt reasonably well with Duk’s rampaging runs down his flank and came very close to scoring with a deflected effort off the crossbar in extra time. 7

Connor Goldson: Rangers looked more solid down the right side of their defence and Goldson’s assurance was a big part of that. 7

Ben Davies: Was flummoxed for Aberdeen’s opening goal, failing to track Bojan Miovski’s run back into the penalty box. Did improve thereafter, though. 6

Borna Barisic: The Croat was blindsided for the opening goal when Matty Kennedy sprinted past him on the wing. Caught out of position a few times. Picked up a booking and while he ploughed up and down the left flank, this was not one of his better games. 5

John Lundstram: Battled away as he always does, but did not have quite the same influence on midfield battles as is expected. After running himself into the ground, he came off for Scott Wright at the start of extra time. 6

Ryan Jack: Got the all important equaliser with a deflected strike, but his link-up play in the build-up goal was impressive. Drove Rangers on from midfield against the team he used to captain and had an enthralling midfield battle with his old team-mate Graeme Shinnie. Kept going right until the final whistle. 8

Malik Tillman: A quiet game for the American, who was unable to drive forward with his usual purpose. Made way for Glen Kamara. 5

Fashion Sakala: Hit the post early on with a header. Forever willing to drive at the Dons but was sometimes let down by his end product. Came off midway through extra time. 6

Alfredo Morelos: Tried to spearhead Rangers’ attack but got little joy out of the Aberdeen defence. Seemed to struggle a little with the heavy pitch. Did link well with Jack for the Ibrox club’s equaliser. Came off for Kemar Roofe. 6

Ryan Kent: This was not a pitch for a tricky forward, but he was excellent. Constantly on the move, probing at the Aberdeen defence. He was the catalyst to Rangers’ equaliser and by far and away their most threatening attacker. 8

Replacements: Kemar Roofe (7) timed his run expertly to fire Rangers in front and added the killer touch his team needed. He had come off with a shoulder injury in second half of extra time, though. Glen Kamara (5) did okay in midfield, but it was fellow sub Scott Wright (6) who made a telling difference, bursting down the flank to provide the all-important assist for Roofe. Scott Arfield (n/a) and Adam Devine (n/a) both appeared on 105 minutes. Charlie McCann (n/a) came on very late in the day.
