Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on a summer move for Rangers defender Borna Barisic, according to reports.

Jose Mourinho’s side are understood to be looking for a successor to Danny Rose in the left-back berth and have identified the Croatian international full-back as a potential replacement, according to 90min.com.

Spurs are expected to sell Rose in the summer once his loan spell at Newcastle United is up but they may face competition for the 27-year-old Light Blues man with Italian giants Roma also keeping tabs on the former Osijek man.

Rangers are expected to demand at least £22 million for Barisic, who signed a new deal in January to extend his stay at Ibrox until the summer of 2024.

Mourinho is prioritising a full-back during the summer transfer window and said earlier this season that he wasn’t expecting to make wholesale changes.

He added: “First of all, that’s not what we think we need. Second, because of the profile of our club and third because what the market is. Year after year, it’s more difficult. I’m not thinking of an overhaul.”

Barisic has played 59 times for Rangers, scoring twice and notching 18 assists.
