'Time for Zungu to show us how good he is'; 'I expect five'; 'Nae Mercy': Fans react to Rangers' Betfred Cup quarter-final line-up against St Mirren
Fans reacted positively to Rangers’ team selection to face St Mirren on a soaking wet evening in Paisley with the chance to head to Hampden for the Betfred Cup semi-final next month at stake.
The Buddies are on form, unbeaten in nine, and Steven Gerrard has selected a strong side to face the Saints with only four changes from the weekend win over Dundee United.
Calvin Bassey, Cedric Itten, Bongani Zungu and Joe Aribo came in for Borna Barisic, Glen Kamara, Steven Davis and the suspended Alfredo Morelos. Fillip Helander, returning from an enforced COVID-19 infection absence, was named on the bench.
@Pena_Cartel: “Sending out a strong team, love it.”
@DarylHiggins1: “Mental we’ve got Hagi, Davis and Kamara on the bench, jack still out and doesn’t feel like we’re lacking in midfield at all.”
@del_walker: “Absolutely nae mercy in that selection - love it.”
@thegafferbigstu: “No excuses. I EXPECT at least five.”
@Ml19dy76: “Strong team, but Barisic seems to be getting alot of rest... hope its not that he is getting Bassey bedded in for a Barisic sale in January.”
Aribo is a Baller: “Zungu starting with no kamara or Davis, time for Zungu to show us how good he is.”
@SinoXel: “Zungu deserves to start in all games.”
Aye Scout: “Zungu, will rebuild Paisley Abby by halftime!”
