The Ibrox club have not won the top flight in nearly ten years. Last season they landed a crucial blow in the title race at Parkhead before New Year but then returned from the winter break and had a disastrous run of results while their rivals motored away before the season was cut short by the coronavirus pandemic. With bookies getting behind Rangers it suggests they think differently this time.
But what of the data experts. How do they view how the rest of the season will shape up? Not just in the title race but across the Premiership. The best of the rest, top six and the relegation battle are all likely to be fiercely contested.
FiveThirtyEight, the statistical analysis organisation, have crunched the numbers using a number of different metrics – as explained here – to see how they believe it will finish.
