Steven Gerrard has praised the work of Alfredo Morelos over the international break.

The Rangers manager revealed in his Friday press conference that Morelos had been doing extra training sessions of his own volition as he aims to force his way back into the starting XI.

The Colombian hasn't featured since the 0-0 draw with Livingston in mid-August as Gerrard admitted the speculation over a potential transfer had unsettled the player.

The Ibrox boss insists there is no fresh interest in the striker, who is available for selection against Dundee United.

He said: "Alfredo has had only one day off since Hamilton. He's come in and trained alone with the fitness coach. That is good to see. He did that off his own back.

"That tells me he is focused, that he wants to get himself ready for the games coming up. He certainly looks better on the eye and looks sharper, so he's available for tomorrow.”
