Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Jack may miss the trip to Rugby Park having picked up knocks in the Europa League win over Lech Poznan on Thursday night.

Rangers have the chance to move nine points clear of rivals Celtic with a win on Sunday.

Neil Lennon’s men play in the Scottish Cup semi final on the same day.

Morelos, who was the match winner for Rangers against the Polish side at Ibrox taking him level with Ally McCoist for goals in Europe, has an incredible record against Kilmarnock, scoring 11 goals in 11 appearances.

Gerrard said: “Alfredo took a kick and also Ryan Jack, we will take a look this morning but nothing too serious hopefully."

Rugby Park has been a tricky venue for Rangers in recent seasons. Since Gerrard took over, the club have lost three of six games in the Ayrshire town.

However, they now take a defensive solidity which is the envy of many with just four goals conceded in 17 games in all competitions and 14 clean sheets.

"We have to move on very quickly and focus on a big game at Rugby Park, we will go there and give it our best,” Gerrard said.

"We will decide on a team we think is capable of getting the three points we need. Against a block, we have to have variety in our play and move the ball quickly and take our opportunities when they come. Killie are a team that are well-drilled and is always a tricky game.”
